The Cambrian mountains of Mid Wales painted on canvas. Often referred to as 'The Last Wilderness Of Wales', this wild and beautiful part of Mid Wales is captured here. The Cambrian Mountains almost fill the space between their better-known neighbours, the Snowdonia and Brecon Beacons National Parks. In 1965, a process was started to designate a Cambrian Mountains National Park. The story of that attempt, and its ultimate failure in 1973, can be read on the Cambrian Mountain Society website here
The remote farmhouse pictured in this painting is now a hostel run by Elenydd Wilderness Hostels, it's a fantastic place to stay and explore the Cambrian mountains. Book your stay on the Elenydd Wilderness Hostels website here.
