Welsh Sheepdog Painting

A beautiful Welsh Sheepdog called Gyp that I painted earlier this year (2019). Sadly Gyp passed away earlier in the year, and her owners commissioned this portrait of her to remember her by, and to remind them of their many happy years together at Nantgwynfaen Organic Farm B&B.

Welsh Sheepdogs are a herding dog used in, and from Wales. Some people call a Welsh Sheepdog a Welsh Collie, which it isn't. A 'Welsh Collie' is a cross between a Welsh Sheepdog and a Border Collie, and they are usually milder dogs so are easier to manage than the pure breed Welsh Sheepdog.
